BSc (Hons), PgDip Nutritional Therapy, mBANT, rCNHC
After graduating with a degree in Biological Sciences at the University of Exeter, Clare worked for the Environment Agency for 10 years.
“When children arrived, I spent quite a bit of time in soft play areas! It was during a visit to one of these that a friend of mine mentioned she was going to train as a nutritional therapist. I have always retained a passion for biology and nutritional therapy sounded like applied biology so within 24 hours I had started the process of enrolling on the Thames Valley University Nutritional Medicine course”.
Clare later transferred to the more local University of Worcester course which she graduated from in 2010 with a Distinction in the Postgraduate Diploma in Nutritional Therapy. Since qualifying, Clare has worked as a Nutritional Therapist at The Fold in Worcester and for Nuffield Health in Warwick, with clients suffering from a wide range of conditions including digestive issues, fibromyalgia, hormone imbalances and weight management.
“I am passionate about the importance of good nutrition to health and supporting people in their journey to health. I have a broad interest in nutrition and I’m particularly interested in digestive health as the gut is so central to health. More recently I have become interested in the exciting area of Nutrigenomics and its applications both for helping those clients we see who, despite complying with recommendations, don’t make the improvements to their health we would hope for, as well as those that want to take a preventative approach.”
