What is Diamine Oxidase?
Diamine Oxidase is an enzyme naturally found in the digestive tract. It plays an important role in breaking down histamine from food in the small intestine. If DAO levels or activity are low, histamine may not be processed as efficiently, which can lead to a build-up and associated symptoms.
