What is brain fog?

Mental fatigue is a common symptom during perimenopause and menopause. Brain fog may be a bit of a buzz word at the moment, but for a lot of women it is very real, and has a huge impact on daily life. Brain fog may show up in your day as difficulty concentrating, confusion, memory lapses and/or slow mental processing – all things that can feel really frustrating. 

 

The NHS estimates that there are around 13 million1 people going through their second spring in the UK, so if you're feeling the frustrations, you’re certainly not alone. The changes and fluctuations of hormone levels causes significant biological shifts, it is no wonder that it can have a profound impact on mental well-being and cognition. 

Why are Omega-3s helpful for menopause? 

Although this hormonal change is natural part of menopause, there are ways to help manage symptoms. Looking after your brain health can make a real difference, especially for common peri‑ and menopausal symptoms like brain fog.

Clinical results you can trust

We recently had the exciting opportunity to further explore the impact of omega-3s. We supplied our High Potency Omega-3 Vegan capsules to Bonnie Jeffries, a Master’s student at St Mary’s University, who is investigating whether daily vegan omega-3 supplementation can support memory and cognitive function in perimenopausal and menopausal women.
