A daily probiotic supplement tailored for individuals aged 40+, with a focus on Bifidobacteria to support the natural shifts in gut health that occur with ageing. Each capsule delivers 4 billion live bacteria from 6 clinically researched, natural probiotic strains to support a healthy microbiome, important for digestion, comfort and optimal nutrient absorption
Daily probiotic supplement designed to nurture beneficial bacteria and help maintain a balanced and healthy gut microbiome important for digestion, optimal nutrient absorption and immunity.
Formulated to meet the unique needs of adults aged 40 and above, with a focus on replenishing Bifidobacteria, key probiotic strains that naturally decline with age.
Protected by advanced GUARD™ technology to safeguard live bacteria through the stomach and ensure effective delivery to the intestines.
A carefully selected blend of six complementary, clinically researched probiotic strains that work together to support digestion, gut health and overall wellbeing.
Fos-A-Dophilus is a broad-spectrum daily probiotic supplement formulated to support a healthy, balanced microbiome in adults aged 40 and over. Each vegan capsule combines six highly researched natural probiotic strains, Lactobacillus rhamnosus, Bifidobacterium bifidum, Bifidobacterium breve, Bifidobacterium infantis, Bifidobacterium longum, and Lactobacillus acidophilus, delivering 4 billion live, viable bacteria that work together to promote optimal digestion and overall gut health.
With advanced GUARD™ technology, the live bacteria are shielded from stomach acid and released where they’re needed most, within the intestines, to ensure maximum effectiveness. Naturally fermented, antibiotic-resistant and shelf-stable, these carefully selected strains maintain their potency without the need for refrigeration.
As we get older, the composition of our gut microbiome naturally shifts, most notably with a gradual decline in Bifidobacteria, one of the most important groups of beneficial bacteria for digestive health and overall wellbeing. This change can affect how efficiently we digest food, absorb nutrients and maintain immune balance.
Fos-A-Dophilus is particularly recommended for adults over 40, as it contains a higher concentration of Bifidobacteria, beneficial bacteria that colonise the large intestine but are less easily replenished with age. This targeted probiotic supplement helps restore microbial balance, supporting gut health, optimising digestion and promoting overall wellbeing.
For younger adults seeking daily support, our Acidophilus Plus probiotic supplement offers a balanced blend of natural probiotics suited to general digestive and immune wellbeing.
Your gut microbiome, the community of bacteria living in your digestive system, plays a vital role in almost every aspect of health. A balanced microbiome helps optimise digestion and nutrient absorption, supports immunity and can even influence mood and energy levels. However, factors such as ageing, stress, diet and antibiotics can disrupt this delicate balance. Maintaining a diverse microbiome through natural probiotics helps maintain balance, supporting long-term digestive health and overall wellbeing.
Take 1-2 capsules daily.
This can be taken at any time if day with or without food or as directed by a practitioner.

Probiotics are live beneficial bacteria that support a healthy balance in your gut microbiome, the community of microorganisms that plays an important role in digestion, nutrient absorption, immunity and overall wellness. As modern lifestyles, stress, ageing and factors like antibiotics or poor diet can disrupt this balance, supplementing with probiotics helps replenish and maintain these 'beneficial” bacteria. Fos-A-Dophilus is a gentle, broad-spectrum probiotic ideal for everyday use to support health and wellbeing.
GUARD technology is a patented, innovative and natural technology proven to protect the bacterial strains from stomach acid and enable the timed release of probiotics within the intestines. As the capsule reaches the stomach, a gel barrier forms to protect the active ingredient from the stomach’s acidity. Once in the intestines, the gel dissipates to ensure a controlled release of the active ingredients which maximises the product’s efficacy at the ideal site of action.
Fos-A-Dophilus is particularly recommended for people over 40 years of age as it is higher in Bifidobacteria, which colonise the large intestine and are less easily replenished in those over the age of 40. For younger adults we generally recommend our ‘Acidophilus Plus’ supplement.
This formula delivers 6 highly researched bacterial strains - Lactobacillus rhamnosus, Bifidobacterium bifidum, Bifidobacterium breve, Bifidobacterium infantis, Bifidobacterium longum and Lactobacillus acidophilus.
