Copper and zinc have complimentary functions but can compete for absorption with one nutrient inhibiting the other. High dose zinc supplementation may reduce copper levels over time. This supplement includes 1mg of copper, providing a well-balanced zinc-to-copper ratio of 15:1. This ratio reflects recommended guidelines to help prevent copper deficiency. Together, these essential minerals support energy production, healthy growth and maintenance of connective tissue, nervous and immune function, and provide antioxidant support. Copper also helps the body use iron efficiently. A deficiency in copper can therefore lead to symptoms such as fatigue, frequent illness, poor concentration and brittle or thinning hair.
