About our Prebio Fibre Blend

By combining a variety of plant-based fibres, Prebio Fibre Blend helps nourish different strains of beneficial gut bacteria, supporting a balanced and resilient microbiome. The easy-to-use powdered fibre format mixes effortlessly into water, or a liquid of choice for convenient daily support.
What Are Prebiotics?
Prebiotics are plant-based soluble fibres that feed beneficial gut bacteria, helping to support microbiome balance and digestive health. Different bacteria thrive on different fibres, which is why fibre variety is important. Unlike probiotics, which are live bacteria, prebiotic fibre helps nourish the beneficial bacteria already present in the gut.
Benefits of our fibre blend
This prebiotic fibre powder helps nourish beneficial gut bacteria, supporting microbiome diversity, digestive balance, healthy bowel habits, and digestive comfort. A healthy microbiome is increasingly recognised as an important foundation for overall wellbeing.
As prebiotic fibres are fermented by beneficial bacteria, short-chain fatty acids such as butyrate are produced, helping to support gut lining integrity and intestinal health.
Using a dietary fibre supplement can be a convenient way to support daily fibre intake, particularly when dietary variety or fibre intake is low.
Stir 5g of powder into a glass of water or juice until dissolved, or as directed by a medical practitioner.

FAQ’s
What’s the difference between probiotics and prebiotics?
Probiotics are live beneficial bacteria, while prebiotics are fibres that feed and nourish those bacteria. Prebiotic fibres help support the growth, activity, and diversity of beneficial gut bacteria, contributing to a balanced and healthy microbiome.
While probiotics introduce beneficial bacteria into the gut, prebiotics help support the beneficial bacteria already present, making them an important part of everyday digestive and microbiome support.
Can I take prebiotics and probiotics together?
Yes. Prebiotics and probiotics can complement each other well. While probiotics provide beneficial bacteria, prebiotics help nourish and support the bacteria already present in the gut.
Do I need prebiotics?
Eating a varied, plant-rich diet is one of the best ways to support a healthy microbiome, as different beneficial bacteria thrive on different types of fibre. However, many modern diets may not provide enough soluble fibre or sufficient dietary variety to support optimal microbiome diversity. A prebiotic fibre supplement can be a convenient way to help increase daily fibre intake and provide additional support for beneficial gut bacteria, particularly when dietary fibre intake is low or inconsistent.
Can I take Prebio Fibre Blend every day?
Yes, it is designed for convenient daily use as part of a balanced diet and healthy lifestyle.
Why is microbiome diversity important?
A diverse microbiome is associated with digestive health and overall wellbeing. Different beneficial bacteria perform different functions within the gut, which is why supporting bacterial diversity is important for maintaining balance within the microbiome.
How much fibre do adults need daily?
In the UK, adults are recommended to consume at least 30g of fibre per day as part of a balanced diet and healthy lifestyle. However, many people are not currently achieving recommended fibre intakes. Using a prebiotic fibre powder can be a convenient way to help increase daily fibre intake and support digestive and microbiome health.
Is this product suitable for children?
PrebioFibre Blendis recommended for ages 14 years and above. As children have different fibre requirements to adults, we recommend speaking with one of our Nutritional Therapists for tailored advice before use.
Are there any side effects?
As with many prebiotic fibre supplements, some people may initially experience mild digestive symptoms as the gut adjusts to increased fibre intake. These effects are usually temporary and can often be minimised by introducing fibre gradually and ensuring adequate fluid intake. If you have a digestive condition or concerns about taking a soluble fibre supplement, we recommend speaking with one of our Nutritional Therapists for tailored advice.
What’s the difference between soluble and insoluble fibre?
Dietary fibre is generally grouped into two main types: soluble and insoluble fibre, both of which support digestive health.
Soluble fibre dissolves in water to form a gel-like substance that helps support digestive comfort, healthy bowel habits, and beneficial gut bacteria, with many types also acting as prebiotics.
Insoluble fibre does not dissolve in water and helps add bulk to stools, supporting regular bowel movements.
